THE IDENTITY OF COMPOUNDS CONTAINING CHLORIDE IONS IN MARINE IRON CORROSION PRODUCTS: A CRITICAL REVIEW

AbstractThe interrelationship between the various chloride ion containing compounds associated with the corrosion of iron in a marine environment is reviewed, and their role in corrosion promotion is evaluated as a basis for the selection of conservation techniques with a high probability of success.
