NO LET-UP IN PROVISION OF NEW RAIL-AIR LINKS

Four new airport rail links in major cities have been opened. The first is the KLIA Ekspres linking Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the new Sentral station in Malaysia. KLIA Ekspres has in-town check-in for Malaysian Airlines' passengers. Madrid in Spain has the world's first city-centre check-in on a metro. Line 8 of the metro has been extended to run from Barajas via the airport to the new office centre of Nuevos Ministerios. Baggage handling from in-town check-ins and ticketing are discussed. In Germany, the new FlughavenExpress service operates between the airport, the Leipzig Messe exhibition centre and Leipzig main station. In the USA, Bay Area Rapid Transit's extension to San Francisco airport is expected to open soon. In China, the Shanghai maglev will cover the 31km between Pudong airport and the metro interchange in Longyang Road.
