Application of grid method in deployment of wireless sensor networks

The number of sensor nodes is related to the total cost of wireless sensor networks and networks' performance,it is considered firstly while wireless sensor networks are designed.The questions such as coverage,connectivity and energy saving are considered with emphasis in deployment of wireless sensor networks are discussed.Several different sensors'deployment schemes based on grid method are analyzed and their efficient coverage areas and their efficient coverage rate are computed.It shows by computation and analysis that when sensor is deployed in the form of equilateral triangle the deployment strategy is the best as it has the smallest overlapping area and requires the least number of sensors.
