A NEW METHOD OF DETECTION THE WEAR OF CRANE RAILS AND ITS ERROR ANALYSIS

A new method of crane rail wear detection is presented,which is suitable for the crane rail with 600 meters long,60 meters span as well as 20 meters high. The detecting station is established in the two tracks span and length center through electronic total station while two track inspection cars that each carries a reflection target running on the rails. The electronic total station can detect the two tracks at the same time by detecting the 3D coordinates of points fixed on the surface of reflection target and pass the data to PC,then by using the least square method to integrate the acquired data and get the related parameters. The actual detecting results show that the new detection method doubled the detection range,avoided the effect of transforming error between different coordinate systems and greatly improved the accuracy of detection.
