Nickel‐Zinc Ferrites: III, Dielectric Properties of Stoichiometric Nickel‐Zinc Ferrites

Dielectric samples of Ni-Zn ferrites which are stoichiometric with respect both to oxygen and to a 1:1 molar ratio of the divalent oxides to Fe2O3 have low (∼15) dielectric constants, e′p, which are independent of frequency. This finding differs sharply from reported results in which the dielectric constant of Ni-Zn ferrites has always been observed to have a pronounced low-frequency dispersion. Because the conditions of preparation of such stoichiometric ferrites are critical, it is concluded that the present findings result from careful control of stoichiometry. The loss-related characteristic, e″p, is also reported and discussed.
