Design of an array antenna for 5G wireless network with enhanced bandwidth

An approach has been taken to achieve a circular polarisation (CP) coaxial feed patch antenna array includes an array with wide band axial ratio. The antenna is used to broaden the impedance bandwidth. In this paper the antenna geometry includes an array of rectangular patch at the centre. The corner slots are responsible for circular polarization as well as area reduction. FR4 substrate is used for the design having dielectric constant of 4.4 and size of 30mm×30mm×1.6mm. The measured results include 10dB impedance bandwidth for multiband frequency range at 5GHz, 9GHz, and 15.5GHz of 620MHz, 650MHz and 4.06GHz at centre frequency of 5GHz. The return loss is of −20db, −15.5db and −17db. The results are well in tune of the proposed design and can be suitably applicable for next generation wireless communication and digital radio system.
