Versatile image data compression for the Beagle 2 probe

A wavelet based compression scheme which is implemented into the BEAGLE 2 probe is introduced. The lack of onboard main memory restricts the flexibility of the compression scheme and degrades reconstruction performance. It is shown how this problem can be solved inducing an adaptive distribution of encoded data size.
