Pol-InSAR Forest Height Estimation at Different Frequencies: Opportunities and Limitations

Pol-InSAR is a remote sensing technology making structural forest attributes including forest height accessible. In this thesis an approach for a step by step estimation of forest height from Pol-InSAR data was introduced and constraints are discussed. Pol-InSAR forest height was successfully estimated and validated at L-band, P-band and X-band over boreal, temperate and tropical forests by means of airborne and spaceborne SAR.
