Ceramic terminology in the museum is difficult for visitors to understand. Dictionary contains only 61.61% of ceramic terminology, and barely 10∼25% of ceramic terminology are parts of everyday words(approximately 50,000 words). However, it is easy to make ceramic terminology more intuitive and accessible because majority of ceramic terminology is Sino-Korean word(76.03%) and substantive bases(63.30%). There is no doubt how effective the easy terminology is in the communication. The survey result demonstrates that visitors understand only 35% of difficult terminology, but the ratio of their understanding dramatically increases up to 73.2% when using easy terminology. Easy ceramic terminology assures not only visitors’ right-to-know but also the way to pull visitors to museums. Therefore, museum as a public institution should make and use easy terminology, which is easy and familiar to visitors.
