All‐Solid‐State Chloride‐Selective Electrode Based on Poly(3‐octylthiophene) and Tridodecylmethylammonium Chloride

All-solid-state chloride-selective electrodes with plasticizer-free membranes were prepared by incorporation of tridodecylmethylammonium chloride (TDMACl) in a semiconducting conjugated polymer matrix of poly(3-octylthiophene) (POT). The membrane components were dissolved in chloroform and deposited on glassy carbon by solution casting resulting in all-solid-state chloride sensors. The analytical performance of the chloride sensors were studied by potentiometric measurements. The selectivity sequence was close to the Hofmeister series and the interference from lipophilic anions like ClO4–, SCN–, NO3– and Br– was significantly reduced in comparison with chloride electrodes based on TDMACl and plasticized PVC
