Optimality criterion for the insertion of multi-interface nodes to improve connectivity in heterogeneous IoT framework

Centrality based measure has been proposed to optimize the number and positioning of the multi-interface nodes in the scheme of Internet of Things (IoT). Here, dissimilarity of nodes is taken as the parameter in the optimization problem to achieve centrality. To explore the heterogeneity of nodes Jaccard dissimilarity condition has been used. Positions of these special nodes have been determined with the help of a modified Minimum-Vertex-Cover algorithm. The algorithm is found to work well with respect to throughput, average life span of the network, tolerance against heterogeneity and network dimension.
