Adaptive Notch Filter based Fuzzy controller for synchronization of grid with renewable energy sources

Present power Generation Company's suffering from increasing of load demand in day by day applications. This situation enhances the implementation of renewable energy sources. Many concepts have been evolved for the efficient generation from renewable energy sources. But synchronization of the generated energy to the grid is still in efficient with the usage of complex controllers and costly power electronic devices. In this paper, the generated energy form the renewable energy sources have been synchronized to the grid without any power quality problems, such as voltage variations, un-balanced loading and harmonic currents with the proposed Fuzzy based Adaptive Notch Filter. The main advantage of the proposed Fuzzy based ANF synchronization technique is without the utilization of complex controllers as phase locked loop (PLL) it can identify the voltage and frequency variations caused due the renewable energy source and harmonics in grid currents due to non-linear loads. Additionally, the identified power quality issues have been reduced with fuzzy controlled inverter. This synchronization technique reduces the usage of costly and bulky devices such as FACTS devices, power electronic controllers and transformers. Analysis of the proposed system with and with ANF controller is conferred and also the performance of the strategy is evaluated through simulation.
