A New Rate-Adaptive Pacemaker:Closed Loop Stimulation Using Intracardiac Impedance As a Sensor Principle.

Department of Cardiology,First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University,Suzhou 215006,ChinaThe purpose of the study is to probe the clinical application of a rate adaptive pacemaker with closed loop stimulation.A male patient was 76 years old with Ⅲ degree atrioventricular block (AVB).His ventricular demand pacemaker was changed into INOS 2+ CLS of BIOTRONIK for battery depletion. The results showed that the INOS 2+ CLS pacing system worked physiologically during activity, emotional reaction and thinking with normal blood pressure fluctuation. After operation the cardiac function improved from NYⅡ~Ⅲ to NYⅠ.And the size of left and right atrial decreased markedly while the previous slight step up of pulmonary artery pressure disappeared. It suggests that INOS 2+ CLS pacemaker can operate physiologically controlled by automatic nervous system
