Deformation Performance of RC Columns using High-Strength Materials

This paper describes cyclic loading tests and ductility evaluations that were carried out on reinforced concrete (RC) column members that use high-strength materials. Basic properties such as flexural strength and ductility need to be ascertained in order to apply high strength materials to RC member. The paper describes the applicability of ordinary design codes to RC members based on a load displacement relationship. A summary of the test discusses specimen shapes and parameters, and the loading method. Experimental and analytical results discuss flexural strength, hysteresis curve of load- displacement relationship. The load-displacement relationship is calculated, and the equivalent damping factor is described. The hysteresis model used to express hysteresis characteristics of the RC member is also described.
