An Innovative Approach for Reviewing Case Studies Conducted at a Taiwan University - Information Management Perspectives

This research proposes an innovative approach for r52 case studies conducted at a Taiwan univ ersity. The roles played by the cases are first clarified, followed by a discussion of the formation of the ca ses by the study methods. Then, by applying the perspectives from th e information management (IM) field, three study met hod types: algorithm in information systems, IM practice and se rvice, and evaluation of IM systems and technology, are found in the 15 specifically selected IM-related case studie s. The selected case studies also delineate the pro cesses of conducting IM-related research activities in two directions: a nalyses of factors and model/system effectiveness a nd efficiency; validity of model/system construction. The results determine the quality of the selected case studies. A determination of the quality of the selected case studies is made at the end. Finally, this research concludes with exp ectations for including other perspectives to review cases or to conduct case-based studies.
