Preparation of glass capillary columns coated with OH-terminated (3,3,3-trifluoropropyl) methyl polysiloxane (PS 184.5)

We wish to report the preparation of glass capillary columns coated with the OH-terminated (3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)methylpolysiloxane PS 184.5. The viscosity of the low molecular weight pre-polymer, commercially available has to be increased in order to obtain a useable stationary phase; this is achieved by a base-catalyzed condensation reaction
