Multi-Agent Simulation to Test a Coordination Model of the Prey Capture in Social Spiders

This work investigates a coordination phenomenon during prey capture in social spiders. Based on biological observations, a multi-agent simulation has been developed to test if such a process can be produced by stigmergy. We present the biological problem and assumption to validate. Then we detail the multi-agent model used for simulation and describe experiments we undertook. We discuss results and conclude about the opportunity of such an approach for biologists.
