A low cost WDM-PON using spectrum sliced F-P LDs with Cyclic Arrayed Waveguide Gratings

We propose and demonstrate a low cost wavelength division multiplexing-passive optical network (WDM-PON) based on the spectrum sliced Fabry-Perot laser diodes (F-P LDs). By using cyclic arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs), we achieve color-free operation with decision threshold control.
