Quantitative Theory of Changes in Oscillatory Hand Movements — Application of Methods of Synergetics

One of the most characteristic features of life is the extremely high coordination between the different parts of a biological system. In higher animals we observe such a high coordination of neurons, muscles and other tissues which then leads to a well-pronounced heartbeat, breathing, blood circulation, coordination of movements up to perception. All these phenomena show a pronounced temporal order, or in pathological cases, pronounced disorders. It is therefore important to ask how to understand this so pronounced coordination. One possibility which is quite well known is based on the idea of a neuronal motorprogram. In such a case, a neuronal network similar to a computer determines the motion of the individual muscles or other tissues in order to produce a well-organized total action.
