Reply to ‘Is the Professional World Snooker Championship fair?’ by John Norman

I would like to thank my friend John Norman for his thought-provoking comments. Fairness in sporting competitions is always hard to define. Is it fair (for example) that the seeded players at Wimbledon are guaranteed not to have to play against another seeded player in the first two rounds? Unseeded players don’t have this guarantee. Indeed, is it fair that there is one team in the football Premier League that doesn’t have to play against Chelsea?!
