Design for Assembly—A Key Element within Design for Manufacture

This paper will consider design for assembly (DFA) and its role within a design for manufacture (DFM) programme, placing particular emphasis on those elements with which it has strong synergy, namely simultaneous engineering, product teams and other DFM techniques.
