Wideband lumped-element Wilkinson power dividers using LC-ladder circuits

This paper describes a novel lumped-element Wilkinson power divider using LC-ladder circuits. The proposed divider consists of parallel multi-section LC-ladder circuits and combined ones, and a resistor connected between two output ports. As a result of designing the divider based on an even-/odd-mode analysis technique, broadband dividers with relative bandwidths of over 100 % are realized. The designed lumped-element Wilkinson power dividers are fabricated at P-band and lower frequency, and those circuit patterns are decided by utilizing an electromagnetic simulator. The measurement results of fabricated dividers are good agreement with theoretical results and show broadband low reflection of input/output ports, isolation between the output ports, and very flat coupling.
