Numerical analysis of non-Foster-based leaky-wave antenna

Feasibility of recently proposed leaky-wave antenna based on non-Foster-element-based transmission line is analyzed by full-wave numerical simulations. Analyzed structure comprises an ordinary microstrip line periodically loaded with non-Foster negative capacitors operating in RF 100 MHz band. The parameters of negative capacitors were taken from the measurements on the prototypes developed in ultra-fast OpAmp technology. Obtained results indicate that should be possible to build-up the leaky-wave antenna demonstrator with beam-squint-free radiation within the band 70 MHz-110 MHz.
