Asymmetrically Arranged 8-Core Fibers with Center Core Suitable for Side-View Alignment in Datacenter Networks

Eight-core multicore fiber with the center core and a cladding diameter of 125 μm is designed and fabricated. Side-view alignment with core identification is realized owing to asymmetrically core arrangement for the first time.
