High Precision Computation for Sun Position and Its Application on Solar Energy

Sun tracking system can notablely improve the efficiency in utilization of the solar energy. The current trend in sun tracking systems is to use open-loop controllers that compute the position based on location and time. There have been many published articles describing solar position algorithms for solar radiation applications. For some, the algorithm is valid for a limited number of years varying from 15 years to a hundred years. This report. described the algorithm which is in a book written by Jean Meeus in 1998 is effective foe one thousand years from now., with uncertainties for 0.003°.At last in the paper, We compute solar declination and solar right ascension based on this algorithms and compare the result with the given data.
