Experimental Study of underwater explosion on circular steel plates

The Topic of underwater explosion and its true analyze is very important in suitable designing of structures which are in expose of this phenomenon. The goal of this research is to measuring the deflection of the circular steel plates in expose of underwater explosion and also to analyze the underwater explosion using the theoretical and experimental formulas. Considering this, some tests on circular steel plates (St37) have been done and the maximum deflections and the profiles which produced by exploding of different weights of C-4 in some distances, have been measured. To comparison we used of the experimental and mid-theoretical formulas and the maximum deflections have been calculated. Considering to the comparision of the calculations and test results, in calculations of deflections, the effect of circumstance which shock wave moves in it and the reloading effect should be considered. The amount of formulas error in different conditions defined. The experimental rajendran formula was the best formula for calculating the maximum deflection of the plates (the maximum error with using the murata relation was 10 percent).
