Operation mechanism of hybrid transportation queuing network with exponential queues process

This paper considers the operation mechanism of hybrid transportation queuing network with exponential queues process. This network is composed of a series of single-route station and multi-route station in the parallel and serial form which is formulated as a transition probability matrix. Each probability value in the matrix is further computed by a given formula. The operation mechanism of the vehicle running in the station intervals of the hybrid network is studied and vehicle running delay arising from the vehicle speed is analyzed. An approach is developed to compute the vehicle running delay probability and average delay time in the station intervals. Finally, numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the influence of the size of different vehicle type on both the vehicle interval delay rate and the average delay time.
