Panel: projects in database courses

While the pedagogical importance of the group project is well documented and fairly adequately discussed in computer and information science and software engineering in general (e.g., [1], [2]), the focus of this panel session will be the specific considerations of using projects in database courses. Panelists will discuss their experiences in assigning a variety of projects in both the undergraduate and graduate level database courses. Topics include variations in problem scope and content, deliverables required, database management system used, workgroup size (individual or group), and assessments used to evaluate student work.
