The Analysis of Transmission Line's Effects on the Dynamic Characteristics of the Tower

The finite element models of transmission tower and tower-line system are built by ANASYS software and analyzed the dynamic characteristics. Three kinds of models under different simplified assumptions were analyzed and compared to explore the effect of the mass and stiffness of the transmission line on the dynamic characteristics of the tower-line system. The models include only considering the mass action of the transmission line, only considering the stiffness action of the transmission line, and considering both stiffness and mass actions of the transmission line. The results indicate that: The vibration frequency of transmission tower decreases when the mass action of the transmission line is considered only, the vibration frequency increases when the stiffness action of the transmission line is considered only, and the effect of the mass of transmission line on frequency is greater than the effect of stiffness. The former 3 steps vibration modes of the transmission tower-line system are close to the single tower, but coupled with a number of transmission line's vibration modes.
