Decoupled planar dipoles for subsurface cw interface radar

Wideband decoupled planar dipoles are suggested for a subsurface transmitting and receiving antenna. Design parameters of the conductor-backed cut-off dielectric waveguide containing two planar dipoles above a lossy half space are suggested, and a bandwidth of more than 5 to 1, decoupling of -90 dB for about one wavelength separation are obtained. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
