A Vehicle Flow Measuring Algorithm with Adaptive Background Extraction

An adaptive background initialization algorithm used in vehicle flow measuring system is proposed in this paper. It can determine frame numbers with stepwise reducing target region by cycle according to the number of moving objects, and solve the problem to verify frame by the fixed numbers when extracting the background. Emulation results show this algorithm is simple and real-time.
