Method for user equipment to access carrier wave aggregation network and apparatus

Embodiments of the invention provide a method for user equipment to access a carrier wave aggregation network and an apparatus and relate to the communication field. A network resource can be effectively used to increase a transmission rate. The method comprises the following steps of receiving a first message sent by user equipment, wherein the first message comprises a user equipment capability; the user equipment capability is used to indicate the user equipment to support a frequency division duplex FDD frequency range and time division duplex TDD frequency range; the user equipment is registered in a first cell and the first cell is a cell of the TDD frequency range; determining that a load value of a second cell is less than or equal to a threshold value, wherein the second cell is a cell of FDD frequency range; a coverage range of the first cell is within a coverage range of the second cell and a priority of the first cell is higher than a priority of the second cell; sending switching indication to the user equipment, wherein the switching indication is used for indicating the user equipment to be switched to the second cell; and sending a configuration message to the user equipment, wherein the configuration message is used for indicating the user equipment to configure the first cell. The method and the apparatus are used for accessing the carrier wave aggregation network.
