Mobile phone Camera Based Visible Light Communication Using Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) Link

Traditional mobile phone camera based visible light communication (VLC) mainly uses line-of-sight (LOS) link, whose performance will be seriously affected by the blooming effect of complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) camera. In this paper, we introduce a mobile phone camera based VLC using non-line-of-sight (NLOS) link. By using our proposed moving exponent average (MEA) algorithm, the VLC system using NLOS link can achieve a data of 5 Kbps at a given transmission distance of 100 cm.
