Practical On-chip Inductor Model with Peripheral Ground Effect

A peripheral ground effect modeling methodology to determine the effective series inductance of monolithic spiral inductors is proposed. To express the series inductance in a simplified inductor equivalent circuit, a negative mutual inductance that can be calculated by a proposed equation is introduced. Its accuracy is confirmed with a fabricated inductor TEG
