Governing Global Banking: The Basel Committee and the Politics of Financial Globalisation

The G7/8 was one initiative to bring some coherence to international banking after the US unilaterally torpedoed the Bretton Woods system in 1971. Wood (ITAM, Mexico) examines the other one: The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, in which the largest states in the world financial system joined together to prevent and manage the ensuing crises.
