Low cost soft endoscope robotic probe

An endoscopic soft robot, capable of assisting medical professionals during Gastrointestinal Tract (GIT) procedures was developed. The endoscope was designed and built using soft robotics technology to provide a low cost solution to the public healthcare sector. The endoscope functionality was aimed at providing imaging, biopsy and automatic navigation capabilities. The final product was evaluated and compared against current endoscopes available and a detailed analysis of the cost to bring the product to market indicated a significant reduction in cost and potential viability of the endoscope in the medical industry.
