Improved embedded image coding algorithm using zeroblock and quadtree

An improved EZBC algorithm and its implementation architecture with low complexity and high performance are presented in this paper. The improved algorithm utilizes the significance state-table forming the context modeling to control the coding passes instead of the two listed in the original EZBC, so the proposed algorithm achieves low memory requirement and low implementation complexity with the nearly same performance.
