Stress Analysis of the Spherical Bearing of Screw Dow System of 950 Primary Mill

The positive pressure distribution on the bearing surface of screw down system of 950 primary mill was studied using FEM and the corresponding improvement way has been put forward. The results show that if the cantact position of the screw and the roll neck moves out side, the distribntion of the pressure on the bearing surface trends towards even. The largest surface pressure obviously descends ,and the bearing's lifetime increases.
