Probabilistic Models for Assessment of Strong Ground Motion

We present a method for idealizing strong ground motion using a complex stochastic process decomposed in two parts: the first, related to the phenomenon of occurrence, is represented by a Point process; the second, describing ground motion for a given occurrence, is represented by a Continuous Time-dependent process. The convolution of both processes leads to the probabilistic definition of ground motion.
