Carrier phase tracking from turbo and LDPC coded signals affected by a frequency offset

This contribution considers carrier phase estimation from coded signals, affected by a frequency offset at low operating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). We derive a maximum likelihood (ML) based iterative code-aided feedback phase-tracker suited for receivers with iterative maximum-a-posteriori (MAP) detection. Simulations indicate that the proposed synchronizer is considerably more robust against frequency offsets than a feedforward synchronizer.
