INTERIM PROGRESS REPORT ON SUPPLEMENTARY STUDIES IN HIGHWAY ILLUMINATION

A SUMMARY IS PRESENTED OF THE FINDING OF THREE YEARS OF RESEARCH IN HIGHWAY ILLUMINATION, AND WORK CURRENTLY UNDERWAY IS DESCRIBED. THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY IS TO DEVELOP IMPROVED METHODS OF HIGHWAY ILLUMINATION BY REDUCING GLARE, INCREASING UNIFORMITY, AND PROVIDING INCREASED SAFETY BY INCREASING LUMINAIRE MOUNTING HEIGHTS AND ALLOWING GREATER DISTANCES BETWEEN POLES. /BPR/
