The safety analysis of live working on 500/220kV four-parallel lines on the same tower

With obvious economic and social benefits, four-parallel lines on the same tower is widely used and has high reliability requirements, the use of live working to carry out maintenance is particularly important. This paper takes 500/220kV four-parallel lines on the same tower as the research object. First, through the analysis of the risk of 500kV and 220kV line typical operation position, it can be found that the typical location operation risk is less than 1.0×10−5, and the workers can safely work. Secondly, the body surface field strength distribution of live working worker under the condition of equal potential is obtained by using the finite element method to calculate and analyze. The calculation shows that the strength of each part of the worker in 220 kV transmission line is obviously larger than that of 500kV lines, the strength of the worker's feet reachs a maximum of 2138kV/m, but the field strength inside the shielding clothes would be limited to the safe range when the workers put on shielding efficiency greater than 43.08dB. Therefore, by taking appropriate measures, the workers can safely carry out live working on the 500/220kV line.
