Electromechanical problems in the cardiovascular system.

In talk, we will address some interactions of electrical and mechanical phenomena in the cardiovascular system.
For example we will consider the interaction of a high magnetic field with blood flows. Indeed, in order to improve the quality of the images provided by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), the magnetic field used in MRI is getting larger and larger: from 3T nowadays, it might increase in the future up to 10T in clinical scanners. We will present computer simulations illustrating the perturbations induced by the magnetic field on the electrocardiograms (ECG).
We will also address the electromechanical modeling of the myocardium and how inverse problems in the cardiovascular system can benefit from mechanical and electrical measurements.
