The invention relates to a method for determining the position of a motor vehicle. Thereby, the method includes the step of providing a radar beacon (103) as well as the emission of a radar signal (102) by a radar sensor (101) of the motor vehicle (100). Further, the step of receiving the radar signal (102) and of sending a response radar signal (104) on the receiving radar signal by the radar beacon is carried out, wherein the response radar signal contains information regarding the identity or location of the radar beacon. In step S5, the reception of the response-radar signal (104) by the radar sensor (101) and in step S6 is performed is carried out, determining a position of the motor vehicle (100) based on the received information.
