Material Handling Equipment Selection by Fuzzy Multi-criteria Decision Making Methods

Very little attention has been paid for selecting accurate material handling equipment (MHE) from a set of alternatives under fuzzy environment. One of the real difficulties in developing and using models is due to the natural vagueness associated with the inputs to the models. In this paper, Fuzzy multicriteria decision-making methodology is used to aggregate the rating attitudes of decision makers (DMs) and trade-off various selection criteria to find ranking values of the fuzzy suitability indices. A hypothetical problem is designed and coded in Turbo C language to obtain the final ranking of the alternatives automatically.
