A New Formulation Of The Activating Function For Estimation Of Neural Excitation Thresholds

We have developed an expanded form of the "activating function" for neural excitation. This new form can be used to predict accurately axon excitation and thus avoid complex, time consuming calculations. The new function represents the NET driving source activating a particular node (sum of all sources contributing to the polarization of a single node). Common errors associated with the use of the traditional activating function are presented by a comparison between these two functions in a simple example.
