Application of Intelligent Neural Network System on Pitch ofMusical Instrument Recognition

A new method to recognize the pitch of musical instrument based on intelligent neural networks is presented. First, the features of pitch are extracted by discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Second, using the theory of intelligent neural network system, some small neural networks (intelligent neurons) are trained to recognize specific pitches respectively. Third, a bigger intelligent neural network is built from all those small trained networks to recognize all pitches and the work is much more easy than those traditional neural network methods. The experiment shows that the recognize rate can reach 97.90%.
