A Modified Conjugate Gradient Solver for Very Large Systems

Abstract A modified conjugate gradient method is derived which requires only one pass through the coefficients and the temporary vectors. The method is applicable to problems which may be complex and non-symmetric. The method is implemented on a vector processor (the CDC CYBER 205) and applied to a high-energy physics lattice gauge theory problem, though the implementation methodology is quite general.
