Investigation of Higher Order Modulation Formats for Few-Mode Fiber SDM Transmission Systems

We investigate the use of higher order modulation formats in few-mode fiber transmission systems. We demonstrate transmission of up to 256-quatrature amplitude modulation at 24.5 GBaud over 30 km three-mode fiber.
