Objects, Classes and UML

Object-oriented modeling is a general modeling approach for dealing with large and complex systems. The process interaction approach to simulation and Object-oriented modeling are strongly related. An overview of object-oriented modeling is presented in this chapter as a practical and widely accepted paradigm for modeling. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is used here and in most case-study descriptions throughout the book; the UML has become the standard notation for object-oriented modeling.
